H&M Denim Jacket $29.99 |
A denim jacket is a stable piece every woman should have in their closet. I've had quite a few over the years and I'm actually on the lookout for another so I can prepare a little DIY project for you guys! The best thing about a denim jacket is its versatility. You can rock it in the day for a casual look, you can throw it around your waist to cinch in a loose fitting dress, or you can where it with a more formal look to bring it down a notch. I put together the following looks to give you some inspiration but really the possibilities are endless!
LOOK ONE

H&M Open Shoulder Dress $14.99 (on sale!), H&M Shoulder Bag $17.99, Converse Chuck Taylor Monochrome Low Top $55 |
This would be a great look for sightseeing if you're planning a trip or for just running errands around town. It's so easy to put together! Denim jackets really go well with almost any dress and I love this one with the cold shoulder which is still very much on trend. You could wear this with the denim jacket around your waist so as to accentuate your figure! And you can never go wrong with a good pair of Chucks!
LOOK TWO

H&M Pleated Skirt $19.99, H&M Suede Ballet Flats $34.99, Zara Shimmer T-Shirt $15.90, Zara Crossbody Bag With Detail $25.90 |
Maxi skirts are another great item to pair with a denim jacket. Add a graphic tee and it'll give you the perfect balance between elegant and casual. These shoes are gorgeous! I have a similar pair from ASOS which I love! Best part about these? They're on sale! Add a bright bag to the outfit like this one from Zara and you're out the door!
LOOK THREE

Zara Embroidered Top $39.90, AEO Vintage High-Rise Jeans $33.71 (on sale!), Zara High Heel Leather Lace-up Sandals $69.90, Zara Metallic Beaded Crossbody Bag $39.90 |
This look is something I would definitely wear out to date night, the movies or dinner! I love how a delicate, embroidered top looks with a denim jacket. It's that balance between feminine and delicate with structured and boyish. You could definitely pair a denim jacket with denim jeans! Even the same wash! But if you're uncomfortable with the whole denim on denim look, try using different washes like used here. Paired with these cute yet comfortable heels and a detailed bag, you're ready for an amazing night!
Which one is your favorite? Let me know below!

Hi all! Sorry I was MIA last week. This Pediatrics clerkship has been as demanding as it has been rewarding. Last week I had an outpatient visit with the only Pediatric Cardiologist for the entire south part of Puerto Rico (needless to say her office was jam packed!), an Internal Exam, and Standardized Patients. It was a busy week! It was also my last week rotating through Nursery which I loved! I could not get enough of those precious babies! It was definitely an experience I will hold dear in my heart and I learned so much for when I myself become a mother!
This week we began outpatient primary care with our respective Pediatricians and so far it has been great! We get to manage almost the entirety of the patient's visit and that is something that really challenges your knowledge and helps you grow and learn as a physician on your own two feet. I've also been sick since last week and I'll probably stay this way for a while because if there is one thing every kid has it's germs!
Since last week was so busy with the clerkship, I was especially excited for the weekend! After spending all of Saturday running errands, I wanted to do something fun on Sunday. We visited the new Famous Dave's in Santa Isabel, PR for the first time and boy, was it delicious! Loved the ribs! After, we enjoyed a lovely Baby Shower for my husband's cousin where we got the chance to spend some time with his incredibly loving family. It was a perfect day!
I bought this bag recently because it reminded me so much of the YSL Blogger Bag but obviously for a fraction of the price! I also bought these shoes because they are almost identical to the classic Chanel Slingbacks. Two dupes in one outfit! Check them out!
The Inside Look: What's in my white coat
August 20, 2016
Hi all! As many of you know from my first post, I'm a third year medical student. Medical school has been a bumpy road with obstacles around each corner for me. Thankfully, I always manage to overcome these obstacles and keep pushing forward to achieve my professional dreams. One day I'll tell you guys all about it. Anyway, I'm currently rotating through Pediatrics and thought it would be kind of fun and different to share what I carry in my white coat with you! Most days I stuff my pockets with way more stuff than pictured here, but these are the bare essentials I always carry with me.

White Coat Clipboard |
This is probably the most essential thing I carry in my white coat! Well, second only to my wallet which is kind of essential too. This is definitely a must for any medical student who's beginning rotations. The convenience of having the most daily referenced medical information right in your pocket makes it easier to write progress notes and be on your toes for those pimping moments from your attending. Inside I store my rotation clerkship's schedule, lists of procedures I have to witness and types of patients I have to see to have a complete rotation experience, a table on common pediatric illnesses, and some blank paper for notes.

Nivea Lip Care A Kiss of Care & Color |
It's very simple: hospitals are cold, cold gives you chapped lips, you carry a lip balm. I love that this one also gives you a sheer tint of color!

Maxwell Quick Medical Reference and stickers |
I have used the Maxwell Quick Medical Reference maybe twice since I got it. I ordered the larger version by accident but actually prefer it to the smaller size everyone has because: 1. I like to be a weirdo with different things 2. you can actually read the text better. That being said I don't think it's something you need to carry around or even need to purchase. These days I just use it to keep the stickers I bought from getting wrinkled and bent (so useful...). I love carrying stickers around during this rotation to distract the especially fussy kids and just to cheer my patients up!

Moleskine Ruled Notebook Pocket, Pilot G2 05, Sharpie Highlighter |
I bought this Moleskine notebook at a Target while I was in the states recently. I loved the color! I keep this on me to make notes on my patient's status from the handoff and during my interview for the progress notes. I also make sure to take notes during morning rounds and classes. I love using fine pens and this Pilot G2 05 is perfect! The highlighter I keep on me just to, you guessed it, highlight!

3M™ Littmann® Classic II S.E. Stethoscope |
My first stethoscope was a gift from my parents when I entered medical school. If you're a medical student, you know how essential this is to perform any physical exam. If you only bring one thing to the hospital, it better be this!

Gloves, band-aid, reflex hammer, diagnostic set (old and out of stock, check out Welch Allyn) |
Gloves, band-aids, tongue depressors, gauze, tape, etc. are things that I stuff in my pockets depending on my rotation, my attending, and my patient's needs. I recently started carrying a reflex hammer because I had some patients who required neurological examinations but, this is not something I usually have with me. A diagnostic set complete with an ophthalmoscope and otoscope are a must when you're rotating through Pediatrics! Performing a complete HEENT (head, ears, eyes, nose, and throat) examination is essential in kids.

Wallet (old, love this one!) |
Last but not least, you need your wallet! Or some kind of card holder for some cash or a card to be able to buy food whenever your attending gives you the break to! I like carrying one with a pocket because when rotating through Surgery I would use it to store my watch or other small personal items so as to keep them in my scrub's back pocket (never leave personal belongings in the locker room if you don't have a locker!).
The Cobblestone Alley

Top/Blusa: A'GACI (short sleeve here) Shorts/Pantalones Cortos: American Eagle (love this fit) Bag/Cartera: Zara (similar here) Sandals/Sandalias: Zara (old, in love with these gold ballet flats!) Jewelry/Joyería: Mejuri ($20 off using this link!)
Hi there! Today I'm sharing a look from this past weekend when my husband and I joined my family for a trip to Old San Juan. Old San Juan is definitely one of my favorite places in Puerto Rico. The picturesque buildings, cobblestone streets, stores and restaurants make it "must visit" for anyone coming to the island. It was the perfect place to celebrate Monica Puig's victory: Puerto Rico's first olympic gold medal! Writing an in depth travel post on Old San Juan is definitely on my to do list so keep an eye open for that!
A'GACI is a store that opened up in my local mall a couple of months ago but I had never ventured in due to the not-so-appealing mannequins up front. Then there's that one day you've entered every other store in the mall determined to buy something, anything, and you end up going into stores you never thought to before. I was pleasantly surprised! They have a wide variety of pieces and a great price range! And that is definitely the way to my heart: cute cheap clothing! I admit it took some looking but I found some pieces that were right on trend and at an affordable price (although I contained myself and only bought the top pictured here, self control at its finest!).
